Did anyone else hear a growl test today? It happened here between 4:50 and 4:55 PM.

They've had that policy since 1992. It was all severe thunderstorm warnings from 6/1986 to 12/1991.

Channel 12 says there was a glitch in the Campbell County siren system last night and they were not sounded. Their policy is the same as Hamilton's.

Last night, I heard sirens in Colerain at:

12:35 (severe thunderstorm warning countywide)
12:53 (tornado warning, western Hamilton Co)
1:10 AM (tornado warning, northern Hamilton Co)

Another tornado warning was issued for southeast Hamilton Co at 1:37 AM, but didn't hear any sirens.

My perception has been that the majority of the population here still doesn'...

I had sirens once around 11:45 AM for the severe thunderstorm warning. They must of sectored the coverage since I didn't hear any subsequent soundings. The first warning was for the western half of Hamilton County, another severe thunderstorm warning later for the eastern half and then the tornado w...

That reminds me of when Hamilton County's sirens failed to sound during the October 1, 1977 tornado. But then, it was human error and not a software glitch that caused the problem. Articles from the Cincinnati Enquirer about that event (click to enlarge): "Test of warning system to follow mixup...
