What is this?

On this website: http://www.sirenworld.tk/ under siren data, there is a picture or two of an Australian siren. Does anyone know what it is?

Siren Video Question

I know the title says air raid siren control, but judging by the way it was filmed, it looks like the camcorder is sitting in front of a blaring Whelen Vortex or 4004 siren. Can anyone tell me what we are seeing?

Unusual siren testing time in Leavenworth, KS

As I speak, the sirens in Leavenworth County Kansas are being tested. They usually stop testing them around September or October. Does any have a clue why they are testing them now in November?

Will there ever be siren louder than the Victory?

Does anyone think that someone will invent a siren that is louder than the Victory siren?

Doomsday Sound 500LT. Yeah, Doomsday Sound is a brand and not the actual siren model, but it sounds good when paired with my scariest siren, this monster with a stator measuring 4 feet across. 500LT stands for 500 HP, Low Tone. http://doomsday.bookmarkhosting.com/sirens/500lt.jpg Texture I made for...

Whelen Siren Question

I've been meaning to ask a question about these sirens. My understanding is that many electronic sirens use a recording of a mechanical siren when sounding off tornado or air raid alerts. My question is when they are winding up and winding down, is it the recording that is starting and finishing, or...
