I'm just curious of when you sirens are tested. What times, days, all year, part year?

Our sirens in Hutchinson, MN are tested on the first wednesday of the month at 1:00 PM all year round, plus 2 times a day once in april for the statewide tornado drill.

Here they test the 2001's all year long, that last test the horn was stuffed full of snow and it was about -10 F! (it was fun watching the snow fly out) I would run the motor.

In my opinion I would have to say the Federal Signal 2001's are the most reliable. I mean honestly, when't the last time you heard of a 2001 failing, plus a lot of them have battery back up. Very nice! It looks like this thunderbolt is well taken care of! It will live a long life!

Our city's power lines are all underground also, it makes the town look very nice not having those lines everywhere.

This was the most interesting siren of the day. I noticed it was pretty old and the pole was bent.

Looks like the tornado lost this battle, and the siren survived!

Now all we need is a video of a square horned one... he he...
