Here is a video I took of one of Scottsbluff's Thunderbolt 1003s, I know the video isn't the best but its still pretty decent. It's shot in HD but YouTube decided not to upload the HD quality. I love the way out TBolts are mounted. This siren has been there since the mid 1980s. Let me know what you t...
Our city has 5 Thunderbolts and they all used to be double pole mounted, two of them were relocated and they used the typical single pole mount with a fenced in blower. I'm not sure why they remounted them a different way but the double pole mount seems a lot better and sturdier. Kind of surprised h...
Having a Thunderbolt double pole mounted would be a lot harder to vandalize, no one is going to try and climb up onto that platform, the controls are also mounted about 8 feet off the ground. Just a better set up than having the blower on the ground without fencing around it. However when those Tbol...
If they were mounted like this it wouldn't be a problem, also deters vandalism. This Thunderbolt is in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. I would love to own that house underneath this giant. I wonder if having that siren there depreciates the value of that house.

I've been wondering for awhile now in regards to dual toned sirens no longer being produced, why is that? Were they more expensive to produce, caused longer production time? I apologize if it's a general question answered thousands of time, but I'm just curious
I suppose mounting the blower that high up creates a hassle, if the city needs to perform maintenance to it, you'd have to get a bucket truck. But at least you have a work platform, just don't be afraid of heights haha
