City of Tulsa Auction - 7 Nov 2015: Whelen 3016's for sale

Hey guys - been a while since I have been on, but life is well. Saw this tidbit on the local news and if anyone wants a working Whelen 3016, here's your chance. http://www.newson6.com/story/30410337/tulsa-surplus-auction-list-includes-weather-alert-sirens Standard City of Tulsa auction rules will ap...

It's on the NE, near a 2910 on Mingo. I bet ANG is replacing the 2800s on base. Actually, based on the control box, it's some kind of WPS, but the head is different-looking, like a Hornet. I'm going to go back soon to look again. If you need some help with Tulsa metro, I got Owasso for you. Is the ...

I don't know if this is the city's, but I spotted a Hornet next to a 2805 at the airport. Anyone know about it? There is also a new 2910 at Owen elementary school. Where is the 2805 located? If it's on the NE side of the airport, I'm going to bet that it may be part of the OK Air National Guard bas...

Sorry top bring up a stale topic - but I found three new 2910 locations in the last week (2 of them *new* spots for sirens in town). 1. 81st/Mingo - old 3016 is gone, replaced. 2. 71st/Elwood - new 2910 directly across from an eye dr./vet office (not hooked up to electricity yet) 3. 81st/Union - new...

Finally got to do some driving around in Tulsa this weekend, and was only able to find one new 2910 - behind the fire station at 36th & Lewis. Also - I mentioned the "missing" 3016 at Lee School... well, I found it. It was not visible to me during my last report. Car's still act...

Tulsa Update: Drove by Lee School at 21st/Cincinnati today - the 3016 that was at the NE corner of the school is gone, and I don't see a replacement in the area. I could see and hear that one from my building at 15th & Main, but hadn't noticed it being gone until I drove by today. Have to wonder...

A follow-up to the tragic storms in Woodward two weeks ago: http://woodwardnews.net/local/x1865825415/Apache-Corp-donation-will-fund-new-warning-system-for-Woodward Kudos to Apache Corp. to funding a new system for the city. But I have to wonder about the reporting: The system will include 3 large s...

Woodward, OK sirens

Looks like a 2t22 was a victim of the storms late Saturday night/early Sunday morning. Re: Tulsa Siren Replacement Starting Early?

Several new 2910s are popping up around Tulsa now... does anyone know if they're doing full replacement now, or are they just putting up new ones as 3016s quit, or what? There was a story on Channel 8 about a month ago saying the city was starting to replace the first batch of the original 60 on th...

I really like that CD sign on the small building by the tower. I don't really know why Stroud thought they were a huge target...but it's awesome none-the-less! Stroud a target? Only for tornadoes. But 17 miles north and west of Stroud is a pretty big target going back to Cold War days: Cushing. Why...
