Re: First Generation Federal Signal SD-10?

Well, it kinda looks like one of the ones in LA and basically not sure what the thing is on the top part of the housing The thing on top is the ring which you would lift it from. It's been either yanked up badly or extended terribly. I don't know why it's like that honestly. I will say that it was ...

First Generation Federal Signal SD-10?

Up in Clarkrange, TN, I got to film this SD-10. It certainly wasn't a typical SD-10. Sounded weaker, had no sound band, and had to be activated manually. Since putting the video up, I'm hearing things about how it needs repair and restoration, it's single phase, or it's a first generation of the sir...

Gatlinburg Siren Test - Modulator 5020 plays Rocky Top

Certainly not a normal sort of test by any means. They play the UT Marching Band's version of Rocky Top for 13 seconds on all of their sirens on the first Wednesday of the month at noon.

Federal Signal Modulator 1004 Custom Hi-Lo Malfunction

The TVA Kingston system seemed to be having a few issues with their alerting system this month. The announcement on the siren I was filming only cut in about 1 one quarter of the way through and a few other sirens seemed to kick in faster when they engaged the Hi-Lo. The Hi-Lo on the other hand seem...

Eastern Tennessee Storm/Tornado Sirens?

Doing a bit of research, there's seems to be quite of towns throughout eastern Tennessee that have acquired sirens through former systems such as the city of Maryville and more prominently the TVA Watts Bar Nuclear Power Plant. While I'm aware of the WPS-4008 over in Blount County, there seem to be ...

There's a pair of diaphones on the Ho-Ho-Kus Station Building blown at 6 PM daily.
