How many sirens can an AR timer control?

Can it handle more than one, or does a city with multiple sirens have a different control for each one? Can a non-Federal siren, like an Allertor, be controlled by an AR timer?

How long do STH-10s last?

I know of a few that are probably from the '50s, and I know they are getting old, but I'd be really sad if they died. How much longer do you think an STH-10 from the 50s will last?

Re: STH-10 in Chautauqua, New York

Yeah, NY is STH, Model 2 and Model 5 heaven (except for Schenectady County). It does look pretty old. I'm interested in what sirens you got out there in Chautauqua County (other than STH-10s) Mayville: dark-colored STH-10 on the roof of the fire department, with some horn things below it. Chautauqu...

STH-10 in Chautauqua, New York

This FS STH-10A belongs to the volunteer fire department in Chautauqua, New York, (my second town). It has been subject to numerous complaints, but some people, like me, like the siren and would miss it if it was gone. Do you have any idea how old this particular STH is? Also, Chautauqua County is S...

Re: Fictional siren system for the small town of Frewsburg,

Well, and this is just a hint of advice, you haven't demonstrated the best of posting habits, so I wondered just how young you were. This kind of thread belongs in the off topic, if it belongs at all. But it just seems sort of silly to ask us to design a system for a town few if none of us are fami...

Fictional siren system for the small town of Frewsburg, NY

Could you make one up (consisting of three Allertors)? I hope to have a system of three Allertors installed there someday, and what do you think would be the right locations?

Re: The "Various Sirens" series and others

How do you know that the sirens in Gaithersburg, Maryland are a Model 5 and a Model 7? Are you sure that they are not two Model 5s or two Model 7s? Do they sound different, or something?

What changes were made to the STH-10 over the years?

From 1955 to 2006? Also, is an STH-10 basically the top half of an XT22? If not, what are the biggest differences between an STH-10 and an XT22?

No. They are the same siren internally, they should sound the same.
I hear the Model 7 has a faster windup than the Model 5. Is that true?
