Another Rare Canadian T-bolt

It feels as though it's been ages since I posted here last, but it seems my perennial interest in things that make loud noises has returned. Anyways, up until now it seems the only Thunderbolts known to exist in Canada were the 1003s at the Suncor refinery in Sarnia, and the one in Stettler, Alberta...

Re: Roster of Sirens in New York City (& Nearby Areas)

That unknown Bed-Stuy siren appears to be an ASC T-112.

Re: Finding Models of 2001's, Thunderbolts, and Whelen sirens,

You guys are awesome! I still a bit ify on the 2001 Models, I kind of know the basics. But im still bad at finding the models of 2001's. Any Tips? Thanks, Adam :2001: I'm no 2001 expert, but after a little bit of comparison, I think I can help you out. The 2001-AC/DC has a black lip on the end of t...

Re: Finding Models of 2001's, Thunderbolts, and Whelen sirens,

Since this thread is up, I guess this is a good time to ask a question of my own:

What are the differences between A, B and C-series Thunderbolts?

Re: The Manitoba Siren Map

Portage La Prairie had a an old CD system of two CLMs and one 2T as of a few years ago. I found the old article and doing streetview I think they have recently been removed. http://www.portagedailygraphic.com/2009/11/20/whats-that-thing-up-there WOW! Thanks so much! Also, it appears the CLM at 17th...

Re: 4th Annual New Year's Siren Blast 2016

Looks like I'm not the only one who had technical difficulties! I guess either my 12VDC transformer or my air compressor doesn't like the cold, because when I tried setting it off, the compressor made a godawful growling noise, and only pumped enough juice for the smaller of my WOLO twin air h...

The Brandon Emergency Alert Project (BEAP)

This is going to be a rather long post, but I know you guys like these long informational posts, so here goes. The Brandon Emergency Alert Project (BEAP for short) was a research project conducted by the Brandon Emergency Support Team (BEST) in 2003 with the assistance of Acoustic Technologies Inter...

The Manitoba Siren Map

Hey everyone. I have finally decided to create a map for warning sirens in Manitoba! So far, the list consists of 14 sirens, and I will add to the list as I find new sirens (next mission: Find the curfew siren in Churchill!). Some noteworthy sirens include the CLM rotating air raid siren in Dauphin,...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

I was just bumming around on Google Maps looking for sirens in southern Manitoba. I read on Boissevain's website that they have a town siren, which is sounded in 5 minutes of Alert for tornado warnings. I spent about half an hour looking for the darn thing, expecting it to be a Model 2 or 5, or mayb...

Re: The replacement siren for the Thunderbolt.

Another question here... The 2001 is rated at 130 but the equinox is rated at 125. Now federal could have either gotten those numbers from the rate formula or actually at 100 feet or both... (They test for it better now adays than they used too...) But my question is: why is the equinox so much qui...
