508

This siren isn't even on Federal's website yet. What's up with that?! You would think they'd be wanting to show it off, a.k.a. trying to sell them! I'm interested in hearing what they sound like. Hopefully they have a much lower pitch than the 2001s. The 508 will be coming to the website very soon....

A could have never imagined seing so many Thunderbeams in one spot. What's the story behind those? I knew Thunder beams were big, but I didn't know thaat they were that huge. About how tall would you say it was? Also I was surprised to see the Mod and Whelen laying together. It's kind of funny seei...

Re: Tbolt

I do not think I am confused. Look at the link you posted. It calls for 205 to 385 DC volts as an input. How do you propose to accomplish this. Sorry, now I understand. The link I posted was the first thing I came across, and was meant to show that inverter products in the 15-20 kW range could fit ...

Whelen Drivers

I have been told that Whelen Sirens are blowing a lot of drivers everytime the system is activation in OKC and Ft. Worth. Good thing they bough a long term maintenance contract.

Could not find anything on Tronca & Associates, still can't find a website. I know that Federal has always used Shiner & Associates. I did find shiner reports with outdoor testing done on the MOD6048, EOWS612 and the 2001DC Siren from back in 1988, when it came out. I also have anechoic cham...

You guys do know that Federal does test their sirens outdoors, with a certified accoustical company (Shiner), and they have documentation of these tests, which are sent to customers. I also believe that Whelen has some documentation, but I don't believe that ASC does, and I'm sure that Sentry does n...

Re: FS has more testing documentation than other siren compa

Federal commonly falsely advertises decibel ratings as many of us know. The 2001-130 actually only seems to put out 127 like the older models. I remember seeing a Thunderbolt 1003 brochure that rated it 124-140 decibles, but it seems like out of every Thunderbolt, only 125 comes out. I think I've a...

FS has more testing documentation than other siren companies

Federal rated the Thunderbeam at 128dB: http://www.jmarcoz.com/sirens/sc5.pdf. Siren Central on the other hand rates it at 121dB: http://www.sirencentral.com/asp_pages/sirens.asp?PRD=348&PCA=61 and http://www.sirencentral.com/asp_pages/sirens.asp?PRD=344&PCA=61 I think it is 121db, I usuall...
