Re: Black Mesa (Half-Life) siren

My current setup for it, just outside the window in the screenshot i posted. It has an ambient_generic entity bound to a trigger that sets it off when the bomb blows. I used the original sample from Black Mesa, though it's not the best. It sounds more believable indoors though.

And it has a motor mounted a foot or so below the head.

Re: Black Mesa (Half-Life) siren

I mean't can you upload them to mediafire or something like that? https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-yTEHQqD8LtX3YwUEliMERBa0E/view?usp=sharing I decompiled it, added a collision model, edited it's .QC, compiled it. Uploaded it. Look at the description :) https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/file...

Re: Black Mesa (Half-Life) siren

Can you post a download link to the model files? I didn't download it directly. I got it from my personal copy of Black Mesa. It's in game's file system as "/models/props_stu/siren_001.mdl" in the file "bms_models_dir.vpk". The corresponding textures are in "bms_textures_di...

Re: Finding Models of 2001's, Thunderbolts, and Whelen sirens,

Since this thread is up, I guess this is a good time to ask a question of my own: What are the differences between A, B and C-series Thunderbolts? A: Horizontally mounted blower, pretty much what you expect a Thunderbolt to be. B: Vertically mounted blower, a C-face motor to drive the chopper, with...

Re: Black Mesa (Half-Life) siren

de_work0000.jpg Fairly decent size too. Just gotta figure out a spot that works on the map in the screenshot. Can you post a download link to the model files? I didn't download it directly. I got it from my personal copy of Black Mesa. It's in game's file system as "/models/props_stu/siren_001...

Re: Hackjob Horror Stories. Botched siren replacements and repairs

One of the guys with the fire dept sent me that pic before they took it down to return it to normal. There was a hole rusted through the horn also. The well pump motor shaft was welded to the chopper armature shaft somehow. A hole was cut in the chopper cap to do that. I sent them a new horn, chopp...

What's the purpose of the well pump on that thunderbolt?
The chopper armature and field burned out and they rigged the well pump motor to run the chopper.
That's some serious ghetto engineering at work there.

Re: Finding Models of 2001's, Thunderbolts, and Whelen sirens,

As well as dual-tone P-15's. I've seen too many people incorrectly insist that a P-15 is a P-10 because it's dual tone. All of our's are P-15's, with one that i know being single phase.
