Re: Carters of Burnley, Secomak Limited Minimite sirens

I had a look and 4 of them say 1978. The other 3 are smudged so I can't make them out, but I presume they were from around the same time.

I tested them using a 9v battery, very impressive for their size :)

Re: Carters of Burnley, Secomak Limited Minimite sirens

I'm not sure which decade they were made. Six of them all look identical with the same style of writing and motors, but one has slightly different style of writing and a smaller motor. I'll take pics of the motors etc soon. Do you still have all of yours?

Re: Small 10 port siren. Would anyone know anything about it?

Ah, thanks. I've seen similar ones also used on old fire alarm systems here in the UK. It's higher pitched than I expected it to be, I thought at first the motor was spinning too fast, but probably just how it's meant to sound.

Small 10 port siren. Would anyone know anything about it?

Hi, I recently bought this nice little siren. It has 10 ports, I believe it's was made by Carter's of Burnley, but I'm not certain. I don't suppose anyone would know much about it? It is really high pitched, and REALLY loud!
Thanks

Re: Gent of Leicester "The Strident" Siren

Hi, did you manage to sell your siren? I have 3 of these, they were usually used as fire alarm sirens. I'd like to get more to add to my collection of small sirens.
