My AR had similar issues after I bought it, make sure you have a jumper between 16 and 15 on the top row as well as a jumper between 13 on the top row and 6 on the bottom row.

This Darley Model 2 is missing the entire top portion of its housing, and on Google Maps more chunks of the housing have fallen of.
