Re: What is the purpose of the Equinox?

As mentioned before, the siren's existence is mainly because of the now somewhat imploding nuclear market. It's not necessarily a flawed siren by any stretch; more so, it's not quite as efficient as the 508 when it comes to effective use of the sound being produced by the chopper. The Equinox was a...

Re: What is the purpose of the Equinox?

The Equinox came out in 2010, and the only reason it was created was because some places such as nuclear plants wanted a siren that was 500hz, or 8-port. ASC had this with the Tempest sirens, but Federal's only option was the Eclipse-8. They basically just slapped an Eclipse-8 rotor into a slightly...

What is the purpose of the Equinox?

I do not quite understand what justifies the existence of this 2001 variant when you have the 508. Both are 8 port, about 128 decibels, and have a 500 hz sound output. Not a lot of cities have purchased this model to begin with so why does it even exist in the first place? I would understand though ...

Re: How were gas/engine powered sirens operated?

I remember hearing the Chrysler sirens were started by hand and a person would "ride" behind the siren while it spins controlling the engine throttle, thus affected the sound output. And dude operating it would get vaporized by the nuke coming at them while warning the population. I doubt...

Re: Unknown Spanish Siren

I’ve seen this siren before. I’m in Spain right now, where abouts were you when you saw this? And also, please provide me with the Google Maps address so I can get there. Thanks. Depends if you want me to find it. ^ Please delete this post if moderating. Coordinates are 42.26753° N, 2.95980° E. Or ...

It's not a DS977 at all. This could well be a "La Electrica" siren from the civil war.
I figure that as well.

DS977.
Don’t those have a hat over them like the E57s?
