Re: Alertronic Siren Loactions

That first one, it almost looks like it may be a rotating one. Any idea on the model number on that one? Also, up until now I've thought of the RE-1600 (Four throat) sirens to only be ASC, but those have ACA stickers. This just got a whole lot more confusing. The RE-1600 was made by ACA before ACA ...

Re: Ellwood City, PA fire sirens

Yellow everybody! My grandpa lives in Ellwood City, PA between Beaver and Lawrence Counties (his house is in both of them!). Down the street from his house is a volunteer fire department that has an STL-10 that is blasted for fire calls. My mom told me that they used to do a Friday at 1:00 test but...

Re: What do you guys think about Whelens

I used to hate Whelens before I joined ARS because back then I would just go off of what other people said about certain sirens, but now they are one of my favorite sirens! Especially the 460 hz Vortexes. But I don't really like the WS-3016 just because it's so high pitched compared to other Whelens...

Re: Atlanta Trip Sirens (Picture heavy!)

Really? Do you know the building? I'd love to try and find it on Google Maps This looks to be it. The siren was removed a while back. https://goo.gl/maps/dUUtDxp43AJ2 Correct, that was its former location. It was taken off of that building several years ago and relocated north to the industrial par...

Re: Atlanta Trip Sirens (Picture heavy!)

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't there a video of that Thunderbolt on YouTube? Unfortunately YouTube is blocked at my school so I can't get the link but the video is called "Thunderbolt 1003 all 3 Signals." Is that the same Thunderbolt shown in the picture or is that a different one? P....

Re: The Fire Escape Model 5- Still Active?

I doubt it's still active at all. I don't see any wires going to that pole, and it appears Lawrence has a paid professional fire department now (about 1.2 miles up the road from there): http://www.indianafiretrucks.com/Station.aspx?StationId=936 I can't answer whether it was ever part of the county...

The Fire Escape Model 5- Still Active?

I found a Federal Signal Model 5 right here (and rainbow water tower): https://www.google.com/maps/place/Oaklandon+Rd+%26+Broadway+St,+Indianapolis,+IN+46236/@39.8762714,-85.9571007,3a,15y,29.04h,95.07t/data=!3m7!1e1 It looks like it used to be part of an abandoned volunteer fire station known as Th...
