Re: This is just wrong.

These sirens are actually quite great in quality. I got 2 of them a couple of months ago and they are fun to play around with. To my surprise, when I first tested them, they had a decent wind down speed. One thing I did with them is taped half of the ports on the stator, and very carefully on the c...

This is just wrong.

I'm sure other people know about this. If you search up "air raid siren" on EBay, you will get this exact same siren, just with a different name, price, or "selling point". Over. And over. And over. It's a cheap, tiny red "fire truck siren" that sells/ships from Hong Ko...

I understand.
I'm just too inexperienced for this and I should stop bugging the forums.
I'm sorry for any trouble or spamming I may have caused.

So, Hopefully I am about to acquire an SD-10. It runs off a 3-phase 240Vac 10HP 3600rpm motor. However, I'm no electrician and I'm not sure about what to do for it in terms of power supply. I have a few questions: -How many amps does this motor pull? -What would be the best to use for it? A static p...

Re: What do you guys think about Whelens

If I remember correctly, the EOWS series sirens were designed to mimic the Thunderbolt. Probably. The first EOWS siren came out in 1975, and Federal was still making Thunderbolts back then so I'm guessing that's the approach they were going for. The EOWS line came out in or around 1982. Where did y...

Re: What do you guys think about Whelens

Well, I prefer electromechanical sirens FAR more than electronic sirens, although I do think SOME electronic sirens are okay... My 2nd favorite electronic siren is in fact the Whelen WPS 2910, especially with the Best Possible Protection tone. (My first favorite is the EOWS 612.) Overall, I think W...

Siren blueprint/dimensions/CNC File?

I figured it's too expensive to go out and search around for one, so I'm going to make a file for my friend to CNC mill. If at all possible, does anyone have CNC files I could use to send to my friend to mill? If not, could I have some blueprints to a siren? I don't care what siren type, just bluepr...
