Re: Need help on wiring my Model 2

I am currently working on my Model 2 project. So far I have a motor starter and I am soon going to get a AR Timer, a 3000 watt step up transformer and a Thunderbolt 1000 chopper motor. My question is how do you connect everything? Do I just connect a 240v plug from the step up transformer to the AR...

Any Siren Graveyards near Phoenix, AZ?

Many people get their sirens from West Shore Services or from lucky friends who have one... But if you live in the Wild Wild West (Phoenix), you're fresh out of luck for the most part ;) . I know there's a siren graveyard in Tucson but it's closed off to the public, and the only siren left there is ...

Re: Mini Siren

Is that yours? And is that you in the video? Yes, and I made it. Wow! You are a very lucky young man. You're younger than I am (I'm 15) and you have a Model 5, a Thunderbolt, and this... Meanwhile I'm 15 and after many years of bugging my parents, the only thing I've been able to get is a Federal M...

Re: A Spanish siren

This is a very rare video, because as far as I can tell, Spain has no national siren system in place, and they are not commonly used by fire departments as in other countries like neighboring Portugal or France. This siren dates from the Spanish civil war of the late 1930's. 09Yzg1gdwsA Sounds like...

Re: Whelen WPS-2910 system in New London, CT

Those are for the Millstone power plant in Waterford. 81 of them scattered through out the 10 EPZ replaced a fairly large (125+) ancient system of various WS 2000s, mostly 2016s in 2009. Not sure if New London does any monthly tests, but near by East Lyme sure does, on the 1st Wednesday of the mont...

Whelen WPS-2910 system in New London, CT

So I'm in New London for the summer, like I do every year. However, New London and the neighboring areas have a network of hurricane/storm sirens consisting solely of fairly old Whelen WPS-2910's. The strange thing is, they never test them. They are operational, they sound all the time when there's ...

Re: T-128 & RM-130 Loudness Comparison

The RM-130 uses a 9 port rotor with 9 horns extending out of its stator. In my experience the RM-130's general sound range is very close to a T-128, however it is higher pitched and produces a more shrill sound. At long distance, the sound becomes less shrill and mellows out considerately. The RM-1...
