Re: Thunderbolt Serial Number Registry

Wow this is nice! Glad you have this, keep it up. Also, do you know who owns the 1954 thunderbolt from skokie IL? Or if there are any pictures/videos of it? Thanks!

Re: HOR Model 50

(removed wall of text) There was another inactive single head Super Sirex located in North Canton, OH that was removed in 2016. It was on top of a building like the one in Hamilton. It's hard to tell from the picture but this one appeared to be single tone. https://flic.kr/p/e3Viiq Also, the one in...

Re: Chicago Il, HOR Super Si-Rex

I would have tried too, but its 48 stories high, very very rusted, and it really wouldnt be a good idea to try and make it operational. Plus, the rotator on yours is in WAY better condition.

Re: HOR Model 50

Ok, so analyzing the data given here, You have a super si-rex 40HP model (although, why the hell is it a 50, Idk) 2HP rotator motor (later design). 10/10 port, likely Ex-Phoeniz Arizona. No, as far as I'm aware, we don't have any manuals at all of the super sirex, as it is such an uncommon siren tha...

Re: HOR Model 50

Oh nice! This appears to be a 40HP model(?) And it has one of the later rotator models as the rotator motor is in the center of the rotator. (Earlier models had it off to the side). This one is likely a 10/10 model, but dont count on me for the ports, it could also be 9/9. This is pretty cool ngl, a...

Re: How much does a Thunderbolt weigh?

I'm not 100% sure, but I believe the siren head weighs about 300 to 400lbs (somewhere in that ballpark, maybe 500?)

Re: Possible siren meetup in Evanston, IL

I will be attending this most likely. The hangout at 8:30 to 9 is out of the question for me, but I will be recording the 1000T at station 4. After that, cant hang out, so I will ask you guys 1 thing, please get all the pictures of their sirens as you can. All angles and whatnot. Thank you! If you h...

If it didn’t have any vents on the cover but siding sound like a 6M then it most likely is a 5M. Do you happen to remember what the. Blower itself sounded like?
Yes I do, it is in one of the video links that I put in the original post.

Re: Evanston's Thunderbolts

Honestly from the video it kinda sounds like it could’ve been modified to a 4M... but maybe it’s just my phone speakers because you said it was *bleep*ing loud. If it’s super loud it’s most likely a 5M. There has been speculation and here’s and there’s but I can tell you as can a few other people o...

Evanston's Thunderbolts

First, let me start off saying that I know WAY too much about Evanston's thunderbolts (Evanston is north of Chicago in illinois). Fun fact, so far the only thunderbolts I have heard were Evanston's. But I have a few questions about them. Recently, I recorded one of their thunderbolt 1000's at fire s...
