Re: Fire tone for thunderbolt 1003 help

First, was the fire button activated? and second, did one of the solenoids engage? and third, does the RCM3 flasher turn on? and fourth, is the AF or whatever timer they are using wired to the RCM3 and setup for the fire tone?

GE Motors

Hello, I'm wondering if the motor in the picture is a General Electric motor, or if it is a different motor, perhaps a Northwestern motor. When I searched on Google for GE motors, I couldn't find any that resembled the motor in the picture. However, I do see that single-phase Northwestern motors loo...

Ontario Civil Defence Sirens Map

Hello, I have created a map of CD sirens located in Ontario, Canada. The map displays the locations of sirens that were present in the past, as well as some that are still present today. Initially, these CD sirens were included in the Ontario Siren Map, but after giving it some thought, I decided to...

Re: Thunderbolts in British Columbia?

It wasn't a popular choice for Canada to use Thunderbolt sirens for the civil defence system instead they contracted McGraw Edison AKA Canadian Line Materials Industries in the 1950s to build air raid sirens similar in design to the UK Carter sirens and also used Federal Enterprises for the Model 2T...

Re: STH-10 long wind-up

If the STH-10 is wired for 480V 3-phase it winds up pretty fast compared to 208-240V 3-phase or 240V single-phase (Single-Phase models only).

480V 3-phase example:

Re: CLM Siren Restoration

Thanks! It's nice to see an original CLM control unit intact. These controllers have a feature where you could have the siren idle at around 60 to 75 rpm to keep the motor from freezing up in the wintertime which is what that knob that points to 60 RPM means. I can't wait to see this siren all resto...
