Re: Beaumont CA Sirens

The legs look model 2, rest of it looks like Soundmaster/ACA. Using the pole for scale it does seem to be the size of a model 2. The motor seems awfully small. Never heard of a siren actually exploding. Burning Yes, the T135 that overran its duty cycle by nearly an hour, but never actually exploding...

DSA's are good quality and are comparably cheap for a new siren.

Start with smaller sirens like vehicle or indoor factory sirens. (model D, Sentry F2 or clone)

Not everyone on the board has a siren. I dont have the real estate or budget for much anyway.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I’ve been watching all about the Ohio River flooding on the local news this afternoon. Channel 9 showed drone shots of Coney Island and the area around it. The intersection of Kellogg & Sutton is pretty bad, and the 2001 there has water surrounding the bottom of the pole. Can sirens potentially...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Air powered B&M. How does that work exactly? I'm assuming something in that rear part has to do with it where something like a fan's spun by air. Instead of an electric motor a stream of pressurized air turns a turbine which turns a siren. It was controlled by a solenoid controlled most likely ...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I was in Massie Township a couple days ago and took a picture of the 1003 at the fire department. It has rotated since the last test, so it appears to be working fine. A while back, I heard that this siren was not working. Good to know that this oldie is still in service! I saw that siren once and ...

I get it The NRC exists for a reason, and I live in a state with Davis Besse, The powerplant that holds the record for largest fine ever imposed by the NRC, and whose owners (First energy) have had recurring involvement with the justice department- Twice, once in 2020 for Public corruption charges s...
