Re: Sparton siren questions.

I believe that the Sparton that was "Wavering and dying, burnt smell" (Or so as it was described as) Might be the old Sparton Model 39 that is on the old Sparks-Withington Factory in Jackson, MI. The property has suffered from at least two fires, in which both of them had melted the Spart...

Re: Anyone have any info about these sirens?

They're just rebranded Model As, nothing special about them. Any info you need can be found on the tag, they're typically 120V AC.

A lot of different companies rebranded Federal's small sirens, such as Edwards, Faraday, IBM, Darley, among others.

Re: The death of the ACA Howler, And a call for action

I'm not sure where anyone here got the idea that any model of 2001 is unreliable. I've only seen a handful of videos of 2001s experiencing any major issues, 99% of the thousands of 2001s across the country work perfectly fine and without issue. Even units that are over 35 years old now are still kic...

Re: Unknown siren type

Certainly looks like a 10GA to me, though a higher resolution pic would help. B&Ms are pretty common (well, as far as B&Ms go) in the southwestern states, so it'd make sense for a 10GA to be in Arizona.

Re: Every Siren Model in Existence

That was confirmed to be a P-15 with an Allertor projector by Jeb back when it was removed.

Re: Heath laboratories siren model F 7

We've seen the pictures and heard the video, yes. The siren barely reaches half the speed it should, and likely needs the brushes to be replaced or adjusted. It should be running at about 7-8000 RPM. Another user here has a Siracode with the same exact motor (stamped on the tag for 8000 RPM) and you...

Re: Heath laboratories siren model F 7

That siren is in very poor running condition as well as physical condition. I highly doubt anyone's going to pay thousands of dollars for it in spite of its rarity.

I miss uncommonsense. What do you mean? Is he gone for a long period or something? Uncommonsense used to keep the forums in check. He was a bit heavy-handed with his moderation sometimes, but he definitely kept the site free of low quality posts and spam. Unfortunately, someone made a post bashing ...

Re: Chopper level 21638623468 Thunderbolt 1000 (NOT MY VIDEO)

Early ATIs made in the very early 2000s used a 1000hz tone. There aren't very many left, since most ATIs from that era have long since died or had the controllers replaced.

it's just a model m, and it looks 5hp, so I called it an m-5
You can't tell what horsepower an M is by visuals alone. Only by what the motor tag says. "M-5" is never correct.
