The 2 and 2T use the same diameter rotors/stators.

Re: federal signal model 2 chopper size

I would also be wary about trying to make a 3D-printed Model 2 run at full RPM with a chopper of that size out of 3D-printed materials. Model 2s run at over 6000 RPM and that puts a lot of strain on the chopper. There's a reason Federal makes theirs out of aluminum, the material needs to be able to ...

Re: Trying to tell between german E57 manufacturers..

The ARS Wiki article on the E57 goes into some detail about the various differences between E57 models in the "Design" section.

Re: How do I help encourage my 9yr old with this interest?

Ah right, I never realised it was being dismantled as the articles are transferred. Just out of curiosity, how long do you think it will be until the site is fully updated? Well, considering it's pretty much only myself doing the moving over of pages, it's gonna be a while. There's still over 150 p...

Re: How do I help encourage my 9yr old with this interest?

Good to hear he's interested! Unfortunately there isn't too much information out there about sirens and such, however Snowpix's Siren Wiki is a very good place to read up on a lot of the models! The official ARS Wiki is not in full working order yet I believe, but it's under renovation. https://civ...

Re: Mystery California Siren

Looks like a Fedelcode with a weird housing to me. It wouldn't be the first Fedelcode with a goofy spacing between the rainshield and skirt.

Re: 2001 vs 508

The 2001-130 also outperforms the 508, particularly up close. The additional coverage the lower pitch the 508 has isn't always necessary, especially in systems that are spaced properly. The 130 is a very good drop-in replacement for just about any siren.

I was the one who managed to find that audio and sent it to Armo. I stumbled upon it when I was researching the siren.

Re: What's the differences with some Whelen Vortexs compared to others?

There's absolutely no difference between a WPS-29xx head and an Omni-Alert/FHS head. The only difference between them are the features the controllers have. Electronic sirens only output whatever the controller does through the amplifier, and the sound is generated from the controller. Thus, the con...
