Re: The physics regarding a siren's pitch

It appears you are describing 'pitch' as a certain waveshape, but not as the frequency of the opening and closing of the ports over an interval of time. Frequency expressed in Hz is the number of times each second the ports cycle from open to closed again. Pitch is separate from "Timbre" w...

Re: What siren can be heard the furthest away?

From an engineering perspective, first we have to define what is 'audible'. Sirens produce a single or dual continuous tone that may be detectable down to the threshold of the ambient noise. Because it's a steady tone, and has a narrow bandwidth, it may not need to be much louder than the background...

Re: Schaumburg ACA P-50 Came Down Today…

It was due to my personal web space not being https, and some browsers default to require all connections to be https nowadays. SSL certificate purchased, certification 'authorities' got their money, now you can see the photos.

Schaumburg ACA P-50 Came Down Today…

Through a stroke of unbelievable serendipity, I was in Schaumburg IL for a hi-fi audio convention, and the route from my hotel to the convention video takes me along Remington Road, from which the Tower Rd Schaumburg ACA P-50 can be seen along National Blvd. This morning as I was headed to the event...

Re: Unused patent? (Again)

This patented design actually presents significant acoustical challenges. A plurality of compression drivers are shown radiating into a disc shaped chamber, but the wave expansion is not smoothly and seamlessly preserved from each of the compression drivers, which will reduce the efficiency of the h...
