Mystery British siren in Peterborough

Hello, I shared this picture of a mystery siren a while ago on another forum, however it was never confirmed to be a specific make/model. It has been suggested that it could be a 2 HP Castle Castings siren or potentially an early Secomak GP6, however a conclusion was never reached. This siren is loc...

Ever-growing collection of British siren images

Hello, Just wanted to share a few British sirens of which I have seen, mostly courtesy of Brendan W’s UK Siren map. I will most likely continue adding to this as I find more sirens. I have put a number beneath each photo which allocates which siren is located where. Locations: 1. Mystery siren at th...

Re: UK Siren Map

Apparently the Hörmann ECN-3000 at 53.568778, -0.090238 has been removed per 2022 Street View footage. If my previous posts are anything to go by, I may be completely wrong. Please someone check.

Re: Rare First Generation SD-10 Found

Anyways, I'm curious what's the purpose of the band around the chopper. Can anyone explain? It was apparently an experiment with sound compression, with the band forcing the sound compress into a more powerful wave. I am not entirely sure on this, however. I am also not sure that the compression di...

Re: What kind of Sirens have you seen?

A Whelen WPS 2901
Two Castle Castings sirens
One Gent siren
A mystery siren that could either be a 2 HP Castle Castings siren or an early Secomak GP6
A Klaxon ES1

And that’s it…

Lego Sirens : Would anyone be interested?

Hello, I would like to have people's opinions on a potential idea I had: Would anyone be interested in purchasing the BrickLink instructions for a few different types of Lego sirens that I designed? They are not currently for sale, I would only like to know if this is something that people may be in...

Re: UK Siren Map

There is a restored Castle Castings siren in the restored control tower museum here : 51.69190882408684, -4.81837934236757 They also have a hand cranked siren from Carter, but I may be wrong about the manufacturer. Speaking of hand-cranked sirens, there are another two at this museum too: 54.943392...
