Stettler, Alberta T-bolt

Hi! I have recently (ish) found out about a Thunderbolt Siren in Stettler, Alberta. I checked with the town and they said it was inactive at the moment, but they were thinking about bringing it back. Have there been any updates since then? Thanks!

Re: Jordan River, British Columbia Tsunami Siren

It looks like a Hormann siren to me, but I'm not a expert myself so somebody needs to correct me. I'm recording it on the first Wednesday of September, so maybe that will help further. Thank you for your reply! Can you give me the video link please? I'm very sorry, but I tried to record it but it d...

Re: Kidde P4010 Question

So, if I were to get a lithium battery-operated P4010 series smoke alarm for my collection, I know there is a switch on the back which when you insert the key or turn it onto it's mounting bracket it turns on the battery. And it also says "To permanently deactivate and discharge alarm, flip th...

Re: Hearing Protection?

Just use some standard headphone style hearing protection or you can use some noise cancelling headphones like AirPods Pros. This is terrible advice no one should follow if listening to a siren up close. Noise cancelling headphones use certain frequencies to cancel out ambient noise entering the se...

Hearing Protection?

Hi! So I was watching siren stuff on YouTube, and I thought: "How do peoples ears not get destroyed by these things?" And that's why I'm wondering what kind of hearing protection is best for siren hunting. Because I got some hearing protection for my fire alarm collection that blocks out 2...

Re: Is this pull station addressable?

Uh yup, one positive goes into the pull station's normally common, the other positive wire (from the pull station to the alarm) goes from the NO (normally open) terminal in the pull to the alarm. The negative wire, you just directly wire it up to the alarm. That should get you going, assuming this ...

Re: Is this pull station addressable?

Ah so it's one of those knockoff BG-12s, right? If that's the case, then no, it's just a LED indicator board, this pull is conventional, you'd just need to wire it in series with the alarm you want to connect as if the pull was a light switch. Hope that helps :) Ok, thanks! So I would just insert t...

Is this pull station addressable?

I got this BG-12 rebrand for Christmas, and I was wondering if the green thingy on the circuit board with the LED is an addressable module. From what I've gathered I think that it's addressable, but it says "Conventional Manual Call Point" on the back so I wanted to make sure. And if I can...
