Yes they are as loud as the legend states. Our county had one one on the 5 story courthouse downtown Jackson. Age took it's toll and it sat silent for a few years (we had other sirens in town also). It was eventually replaced with a T-bolt in 1982. That Chrysler siren could be heard a good 5 to seve...

Really, so you think that one is black and yellow. Someone on YouTube saw a black & yellow T-Bolt in Knoxville, TN. This is it: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Washington+Ave+%26+N+6th+Ave,+Knoxville,+Knox,+Tennessee+37917&sll=35.984353,-83.914556...

I think that question was answered in another post not long ago. It seemed that the door flaps were to limit the amount of air going into the chopper to prevent the motor from overspeeding. Wouldn't limiting the amount of air going in actually cause the motor to over-speed? Those doors don't always...

Wow, the low controls and blower box on the ground for the T-bolt is asking for trouble. A grass fire could take that whole set up out of service.

In my opinion, instead of being a coding mechanism/solenoid, it looks to be like something to control the sound/volume output of the siren, speaking that half of it is closed. But, wouldn't that beg the question why a community would spend 15 to 20 K on a siren only to reduce the sound output on wh...

It's been my experience the same folks complaining about the noise are the first ones to complain to the city council when a tree branch falls in their yard after a garden t-storm demanding to know why the sirens wern't sounded. I would add most of these people also have numerous calls logged at the...

Ya so i was riding through the Forest Hills area of Nashville ( the ritzy area) and saw this ATI on its side getting ready to go up. There are no control boxes on the pole at this time. Here are some close ups I took. Do you know what the side street is? I certainly didn't know that more of these a...

If a T-bolt runs a one minute alert cycle on test day will the projecter end up facing the same direction give or take 10 degrees as it was before the test? it depends on how the timer counts the minute. if it considers the "1 minute" to be the time from when power is sent to the chopper ...

That kind of reminds me of one of the thunderbolts in downtown Cincinnati. A lot of times, I've found it facing in some sort of east direction. Usually, the next time I see it after it's been activated for whatever, it's slightly different. On MSN using Brids Eye, it facing directly east. On Google...

T-bolt question

If a T-bolt runs a one minute alert cycle on test day will the projecter end up facing the same direction give or take 10 degrees as it was before the test? We one T-bolt on the court house it seems to always face east but after test day it seems it points slighty different but still eastward, somet...
