Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I didn't see it. School was letting out at the time and I couldn't get a good look with all the traffic. The city garage is down the street, they may have taken it there. I will message the local siren installer later to see if he knows anything about it

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I drove through St. Bernard today and noticed that the Thunderbolt 1000 on top of St. Bernard Elmwood Place Elementary that I recorded back in April of 2010 has been removed, fortunately. They must be getting ready to demolish the old elementary school. I'm relieved that the siren was not demolished...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Thanks, Andy!

Now that I remember, after last Wednesday's test that siren did seem to run a little longer after the other sirens were shut off.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Green Township Diamond Oaks T-128 did a growl today. Did any other sirens in the county do this? I live in an apartment complex adjacent to the Diamond Oaks Campus and heard it growl between 12:30 pm - 1:30 pm. Maybe there was just being maintenance be done to it.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

With all the news about the Crosley Building being renovated into apartments and offices, I remembered there used to be a Thunderbolt on top of it, but Mr. Werden said it was stolen back in the early 2000s. I found a picture of the Crosley Building with the siren on top of it from April of 2003. I d...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

I have a question regarding a Thunderbolt siren that used to be on a firehouse near the Loveland Bike Trail. The address is 100 East Loveland Avenue, Loveland, Ohio 45140. I remember my mom, brother, and I had just finished riding our bikes on the trail and while we loading the car, the siren starte...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

SIRENMAN, I remember driving down Church Street in St. Bernard when I was in 7th or 8th grade and looking over as we went past Vine Street Park and seeing you and one of your employees installing the siren that used to be on the Nu-Maid Plant on top of the elementary school. I think my father, the p...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

While driving down Harrison Ave today, I noticed that the Thunderbolt on top of the Fire Station on Epworth is gone. Maybe they are finally starting to remove the old decommissioned sirens or just that one. I heard that someone is going to turn that Fire Station into a restaurant and the new owner w...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

After years and years of the Thunderbolt Siren atop of St. Bernard Elmwood Place Elementary sitting silent for test days and severe weather warnings, the fate of it has been found. According this article from the Business Courier, the school is going to be demolished and I am sure the Thunderbolt th...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Drove past the Hudepohl factory today, and the Thunderbolt is still there, it has not come down yet. Probably be this week.
