Re: ACA Banshee in Eldorado, IL

You should most definitely get the remaining abandoned Penetrator that's north of town! So you're familiar with Metropolis? When they installed the new whelens, they used the exact same poles as the p-15s, except the remaining one that is not in use. The reason it is still on the pole was because t...

Re: Are there any siren "graveyards" around Iowa?

No. The only one I knew of was an electrical contractor that had a few thunderbolts and STH-10s that had a contract with DAEC to work on their Whelens, but he got rid of them 5 years ago. Your best bet is driving around to some small towns. If they have a new siren, chances are they have an old one...

Re: Scott County, IA Siren Map?

Davenport is all 4008s with the exception of maybe a few 4004's in the recently developed areas. I want to say there is an old Thunderbolt downtown that's mounted on a roof. Not in service but it's there.

Re: My Fully Restored Model 5 siren

Don't let it sit outside too long. A lot of members on here used rustoleum on their sirens, and although it looks great for the first few months, it will fade like no other.

It's been a long time since I've seen a thunderbolt restoration on here. Keep up the good work! Good luck on the 4/5 chopper, they are one of the more rare Federal objects on here.
