Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

https://goo.gl/maps/AZM8Y8dPoUZHhzxH9 In Eugene, Oregon. Possibly a Modified K-5? As there is a modified K-5 in another town(Estacada) that looks very similar. https://www.google.com/maps/@44.1020554,-123.1306639,3a,15y,250.71h,96.84t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1su1h10y10r4qG5LOokHA8KQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192 He...

OK you guys...here's a doozy. Found today in Forman, ND. All I know is that it's dual-toned and has a LOT of ports!

(Sorry I can't directly post them here, the file's are too big)
Goof grief, that's a pretty beefy motor under it, too! Looks to be 20/24 port?

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Need help identifying this siren. Was obtained as a WWII surplus, now used for fire/weather at the Collettesville, NC Fire Dept. The top half of that is definitely some custom fab work. The stator looks textbook Federal Model 5, but the motor should have feet on it. Perhaps it's a Model 5 rotor/sta...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

It's a Model B. They came in three styles, with that being one of them. Here's another example. You can tell it's a B because the stator and flair on the end are both one piece. I know this is being extremely pedantic, and it probably doesn't matter, but the tag on these is "Type B", not ...

It honestly looks like the dome for a lightning detector, which would make sense given the loudspeakers and proximity to t...

Re: Theory: GCS Was Really Federal Electric

Could it be one of those "paper" companies, i.e. a company that exists on paper as a sort of subsidiary but doesn't have the presence of a real company? This sounds weird but for some companies like railroads, restaraunts franchisees and trucking companies it's more common. Near me there'...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Any chance you can get a close-up shot of the tag on top? That will go a long way towards identification. Hi everyone. I'm a completely new member to this site and air sirens, I know very little about them. I work as a local retained firefighter in Scotland and we have an air raid siren stored away ...

Re: Post your Mystery Sirens here.

Sadly I could not get the howler because the fire chief said that the siren has been there since the town was built and he found out about how rare it was so it disappointing but I know that I can find some other sirens. That's honestly still good news, just hearing that they're not going to bin it!
