Re: How to remove a siren

That airport would be under federal jurisdiction, if it still has air traffic. If that is the case, the feds would have to get involved.....lots of luck with that. If there is no air traffic, then its anybody's bet....irregardless, its going to cost you some disposable income that apparently you do...

Super Banshee in Pierce, Nebraska

I finally was able to get a successful recording of one of the Super Banshees in Pierce. I've tried off and on for the past 10 years and finally had success. It was pouring rain at test time and I was a little skeptical about them testing but they finally came through.

My Federal Type B

I ran my Federal Type B up for the first time today. I got it back in the beginning of July from Northville, South Dakota. This was the first time it has ran since it was replaced 5 years ago in favor of battery backup. I have the housing for it, but it needs straightened out and new fastening hardw...

Re: rcm panel confusion

Your thoughts are mostly correct. The RC5(W)A and RC6A are for 3 phase and the "B" variant is for single phase. The W just meant that the motor starter is in a weatherproof cabinet. The non-W variant isn't weatherproof and usually installed inside a building. The RC6 (both A and B) were al...

Re: Federal Signal 2t22, King Lake, NE

Probably just has different activation tones. They usually have each town on their own set. I'm not sure how Omaha is, but Lincoln even has its own zones so different parts of town will activate separate. Even Columbus was like that with their old system.

Re: Federal Signal 2t22, King Lake, NE

Glad someone finally got this one. Also, this isn't the last CD siren on the Douglas County system. There's still a Thunderbolt in Valley at Valmont.

15 minute duty cycle? What if an attack threat or weather warning lasts longer than that?
They only run 3-5 minutes at a time, not during an entire warning.

Anyway, nice pics. Makes me sad to see the Salina system being replaced. Any idea what they are doing with the old system?

St. Paul, NE 4/5 port Thunderbolt 1003

Went up to St. Paul today to get a video of the 1003 in alert. As many people have discovered, it recently had it's 5/6 port rotor swapped with a 4/5 port rotor. If I get the chance, I'll go up there on the 15th of a month and get the fire signal recorded. I was there on July 15th but they didn't te...
