Yep. Doesn't VictorySiren.com have pics of Big Bertha? (I'm thinking of the one with the round configuration for the horns... I'm probably wrong, as I haven't visited the site in a while... neither have the webmasters.)

Re: Baggage Claims (wow, didn't see that coming!)

I travel often, so I'm almost always standing next to baggage claim when that alarm goes off (and consequently pull out a pair of pants from my luggage after a quick trip to the bathroom afterwards). Out of pure curiosity, does anyone know who in the world makes these buzzers? They don't sound exac...

The box is about the size of a standard piece of printer paper. So I'm hoping that the manual on the right of the 2nd picture isn't printer paper. Anyways, that's a LOT smaller than I expected... I saw one on eBay last year and the pics made it look like the size of a large computer tower ~.^ Where...

They need a siren to warn that THE siren is about to sound. An interesting concept, especially because sirens are used to warn that Diaphones and similar horns are about to sound. Chino Prison uses those strobes and the tones for their sirens, which are pretty low (and pictured near the beginning o...

Those vertically stacked arrays of speakers on so called "non directional" electronic sirens are actually quite directional. They limit the sound vertically dispersed within the horizontal plane while increasing the SPL within the horizontal plane itself. Actually, some siren designs try ...

Re: Odd thing happened on the way to work

That would be the crappy and pointless eQ2B. No, if it was "switched" I'd put money on it being one of those Whelens that has the Q imitation. YouTube vid: http://youtube.com/watch?v=9kMYRGaUTT0 They are apparently manual-only, from what the video says... I'm curious if this siren is stil...

Personally, no, but a lot of videos show what you're saying well.

It's really awkward, since the siren is not nearly as loud as if you were a good distance away but right in the sound's trajectory. Then again, this could be an interesting safety feature.

Re: Odd thing happened on the way to work

I was on one of the local buses going to campus (to take the yellow route to get to work) and on the way, I saw an ambulance go by with the lights & sirens on. I knew it was just another emergency call. However, at the next intersection, the bus stopped because the driver saw another emergency ...

Out of pure curiosity, where did you find this thing? And is it as big as a medicine cabinet or does it just look that way? I was hoping to get one for my Model A, like you commented on.
