I'm inclined to say the 40V2T because omnidirectional powerhouse sirens are hard to come by, or I would say the Defender but they don't seem to make those any more, so I'm gonna go with the 2001/Equinox for their powerful, howling windup. (ASCs are really good at what they do but by God they're bori...

My only concern is how hard it'll be to convince cities that the 4db drop is worth it. Well, we all know that lower tones travel farther and penetrate structures better, so Federal should be able to make that work for them. If the sound travels farther, fewer units would be needed to cover a given ...

I'm not sure there could be much more really, they've got a compplete line of sirens right now. I dunno, maybe a rotating electronic siren? I doubt it.

However, the Eclipse and Equinox names for censecutive releases make me wonder if they'll have a pattern of E names in the future.

Definitely real! :) I live in Baltimore, and while the two Thunderbolts near my house (out near the city line) don't sound anymore, the sirens downtown (1000s and Model 5s) do still sound every Monday at 1:00. Oddly, while there's a dead Model 5 I can walk to, there are two a little further away th...

In attack with a good echo, any single-tone siren really sounds good.

Honorable mentions to 7/10 HORs for the tone and to Thunderbolt 1000Ts for their metallic ring.

It kinda sounded like an EOWS with Mod controls that started rotating, then stuck for a while pointed at the camera, then continued...

Edit: listened again, actually just sounds like an ordinary Mod.

Third. The Netherlands or someplace uses Whelens.

Also, it looks like there's still an old siren sitting next to that 2001 in the photo. Pretty cool.
