Re: 2017 Indiana SWA Tornado Drill Day

While Brad was at the East Side Thunderbolt in Logansport, I went to the downtown Model 5T that Bill was also at. Pretty healthy sounding siren and luckily the County wants to keep the older sirens around. Look for the Evening Drill Video later this evening from Crawfordsville. Logansport, Cass Coun...

Indiana SWAW | Columbus Indiana | WPS-2809

This is the evening test at 7:35 during Indiana Severe Weather Awareness Week. After a disappointing morning in Knox County it was nice to get a decent test. This is one of Columbus Indiana's 14 WPS-2809's. First thing you'll be hearing is the EAS Warning on the radio after the siren had already com...

Mooreland Indiana Thunderbolt-1000T

It's been a while since I posted anything. Got a new camera and decided to head out to the Thunderbolt in Mooreland. This is a weekly test of the Henry County siren system. Despite the wind advisory I think the recording came out pretty well.

Re: Indiana Severe Weather Awareness Week

Here is my contribution to this weeks videos from Indiana's severe weather awareness week. I'm pleased with the results from Lebanon! Also Brad it's not my fault you didn't show up prepared for class! Better luck next time haha! All in all I think we can chalk this up as a success! https://www.youtu...

Greenwood Indiana Siren activation from 2/20/14

Missed the windup, didn't honestly think our sirens would be used. But Johnson County's policy of activating when a Severe Thunderstorm Warning is issued during a Tornado Watch is what prompted this activation. I could hear 3 2001's and a T-128. Nothing spectacular, but how often do you hear sirens ...

Does anyone have or know of a map for the old Chicago system?

Greenwood, IN Halloween siren activation,

Nothing special. Can't see anything due to it being night. Storm system moved through around 9:30 creating winds over 70mph across Indianapolis. This activation is for a Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued during a Tornado Watch. Sirens went off about 4 minutes after the warning was issued. Most citi...

Re: Indianapolis Siren System

There is also another Model 5 you can add to your old Indianapolis system map Ian. 923 W. 54th St., Rocky Ripple IN, is where the old Rocky Ripple VFD used to be. The FD is now defunct and is covered by IFD. The Model 5 was roof mounted and red, I feel that it was most likely not part of the system....

Re: Indianapolis Siren System

There was an older SRN on the east side of the city that was hit by a car about two months ago. By the time I came across it all I found was a pole snapped in half and the control boxes remaining. The siren head was gone. It was only two blocks from where I was working so I checked on it every few d...
