ACA AL-Mess

Welp I think it's time this one finds its way to the garbage. To quote myself, "Ohhhhhhh that was awful!"

Re: New Mexico Sirens

I hate to bump old topics, especially this one since the trip happened last year. Goddard Enterprises installed Equinox sirens in Tucumcari earlier this year. It's kind of interesting since these are kind of like the Hornets of Federal Signal - rare but still being made. There aren't any videos of ...

Re: Shirley,MA ACA alertronic 4000.

Looks nice! Always wanted to hear one of these; how loud are they? I haven't heard the 4000, but I can tell you that the 8000 from that same era isn't exactly deafening. These would be good for a large park or sports complex, and that's about it. Amarillo still has one of these in operation, and yo...

Re: Irving EOWS 612 Replacement on Google Earth

Correct. I am not sure if any units in recent years had the legacy SiraTone controllers on them. I think that they were all upgraded at some point. The 612s in Denton were the only legacy units I remember. I think Coppell's had the smaller boxes, but were MCP inside. They put up Modulators and 612's...

Re: Fort Worth had an ACA Howler?

The Howler operated off the Screamer platform, so it was a bit smaller and also used a different rotational drive system. I think these were prone to belt drive issues, and the product wasn't offered for very long.

Does anyone have the rest of that catalog? The page in this thread has been floating around for years but I was curious if the rest of the catalog existed. The 4000-II has always been something of a mystery I've wanted to explore.
I would be willing to bet it was what we know as the 4008.

What's up with these useless maps?
I don't think "useless" would be the appropriate term. Just because you aren't interested, doesn't mean others share your feelings. I see nothing wrong with this thread, and it is in the appropriate category and forum.

Rotating Single tone High.

It's on the wiki https://wiki.thesirenboard.com/RSH-10
There is some debate as to whether the S is for "single" or for "special."
