Re: Biersach & Niedermeyer Mobil Directo.

Great info. I have a BN-44E from the 60's with a Doerr 10 horse three phase motor. The stator uses a pump flange for the bolt pattern, so the motor is very similar to a J or JM frame pump motor. The stator is cast iron and weighs a ton, but doesn't make up the front bellhousing of the motor like the...

Re: A potential new siren from ASC

Besides the Allertronic is a much older design than the Vortex, maybe even older than the 3016.

Re: 4004 or Vortex?

The dealers don't stock sirens. They are made to order by the factory.

Re: The replacement siren for the Thunderbolt.

The 508 is designed as a one to one replacement for the Thunderbolt. The 2001 was too but it fell a little short.

Re: Seven Byron Exelon P-15 Recordings

Wait a minute. I thought P-10's couldn't handle the Single Tone chopper. It would be putting heavy strain on the 10 HP motor right? It handles it because it's three phase, but it still runs a lower pitch than a P-15. They could get away with it on the Baldor motors because they had class F insulati...

Re: Seven Byron Exelon P-15 Recordings

I believe that that siren is actually a RM-127, as the siren's color is gray, and it has a larger intake cone, used on the 127's. No it's just been repainted. The grey sirens without decals have been overhauled at some point. The fiberglass and aluminum intake cones can be swapped back and forth an...

No it doesn't, that siren runs fine.

Re: Soundmaster 115 Taycheedah, WI

If it's like a 3t22 then it's an easy fix. Unwire the solenoids and wire the dampers open with a piece of heavy wire.

Soundmasters also had a lot of bearing problems.

They have other smaller outfits and radio shops that will fill that gap.

Re: McCord Communications to close

As someone who has been working in the siren business in the southeast for many years, I can honestly say this is equal to the fall of the Roman empire. McCord had a huge presence down here.
