I am having trouble viewing this: the page appears to have loaded but is blank. I have tried Safari, Google Chrome, and Firefox. Any suggestions?

Granite, OK Thunderbolt

I was surfing online and came across a few pictures of a Thunderbolt from the Southwestern Oklahoma town of Granite: http://www.abandonedok.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/10/DSC_0629-LOW.jpg http://pics4.city-data.com/cpicc/cfiles47525.jpg From the pictures I have seen this appears to be the town's onl...

All-Clear

Hello everyone. I keep reading online that no city/municipality sounds an all-clear signal, but I know of a city that used to. Growing up in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, I heard the 2T22 down the street all too often. I remember in the early to mid 1990's, Bartlesville would sound the sirens 3 times for ...

Topeka, KS siren system 1966

Hello everyone. I've been meaning to ask this question for some time now, so here goes: Before Topeka's siren system was replaced/upgraded, were there any surviving sirens from the tornado of 1966? Were the Thunderbolts strictly 1000T's or did they have 1000's as well? Bonar Meninger's book "An...

You will think I'm crazy, but I've never worn earplugs at a siren test. I used to stand right under Thunderbolts or watch them from a close distance. I was young and stupid. Anyway, I love the fact that these Thunderbolts have been given a second chance, it's as close as we'll get to having them put...

Lost Thunderbolt video

There is a video on YouTube of a 4/5 Thunderbolt testing at an abandoned facility (siren is in front of two big smoke stacks). At the beginning of the video, a replacement 2001 starts before the Thunderbolt does. Also, the blower and rotator on the T-Bolt do not stop until the chopper completely sto...

Sedalia, MO sirens

Hello. I am reading a book about a tornado that struck Sedalia, MO on May 4, 1977, and was wondering if anyone knows what kind of siren system the city has or had. Thank you!

Attack signal

I just finished watching Ponca City, Oklahoma's siren test and discovered that they test their sirens in Attack mode. I just wondered if using Attack mode was a good idea just in the event that they actually need to use the sirens for something catostrophic. I doubt they'll ever be sounded for a rea...

I live off of NW 63rd Street and Hefner Parkway. Thanks for the help everyone. BTW, The Village does have one 2T22 that I know of.

OKC sirens

I've been living in NW Oklahoma City for 2 months now and I just heard the sirens test on Saturday. I know that OKC has mostly Whelen sirens, but I swear I heard a 4/5 Thunderbolt 1000T somewhere in the distance. Does anybody know if OKC has such a siren?
