Another Cardboard Siren Solution!

A Cardboard Solution is my name for when someone uses an outside the box methoid for solving a problem (such as the cardboard dresser that one of our fire department live in's bought and brought to the station).... well here is an example of thinking outside the box. The siren at the Beale Township ...

Country Lakes, NJ Siren

I know that this siren has been the topic for discussion many times on this board, it has remained a mystery and is rumored to be a 2T22 vertically mounted. I visited Country Lakes and took many pictures of this siren (which are on the computer at the fire station right now and not with me). It appe...

I am surprised that thing didn't short out or fail as I don't believe they are rated for that much continuous action. Quite intersting when the engineer put his coat over it, if you notice that it cuts the sound but the RPM of the Q picks up. Very interesting!!

LOL, that is just wrong!! :) I have one of these Selectone sirens... it is an older one and was removed from a factory. It was used as a call signal (in other words, you were pouring metal into a mold and the mold broke down). The older ones don't do all of that stuff but there are some interesting ...

Ahh yes, almost all fire trucks had two-stroke diesels in them....from the 6 and 8V53's through the V71's and the V92's...all fire trucks that had Detroit motors in them prior to 1990 had the Screamin' Detroit's in them!! As for the STH-10 video.... it is indeed an STH-10 and it is on the roof of th...

LOL, I do indeed remember that siren hunt..... I can't believe that someone has a sound clip of the Vigilant's siren going off.... it doesn't go off anymore.... only 1 siren in Columbia sounds anymore sadly. I do remember the lady questioning us as well, Columbia is a strange, strange town... didn't...

There isn't anything such as a Low-tone Sterling.... you either have 16 ports (standard) or 8/16 port (dual tone). I'm trying mightily not to hijack the thread; but if there's no such animal as you suggest, what accounts for the variations in tone I mentioned earlier? When I was younger I had been ...

That 3T sounds wonderful in this recording, it is indeed very Carter's like. The Sterling is a dual tone version, there isn't anything such as a Low-tone Sterling.... you either have 16 ports (standard) or 8/16 port (dual tone)..... for some reason on the dual tone version the low tone comes through...
