Hi John!

Will you record a modulator or are there any motor sirens left in the Netherlands? I only know this type of siren from your country, but in fact, proper recordings of these modulators are actually hard to find.

Yes, it's a Federal Signal modulator. Click here for a sound sample. It remains me of something. I haven't played Super Mario Bros. for a long time. :D

The solution with the trialgular array of bars is the best way to mount a siren on a straight-running roof. You can also use a small pole and mount it on a wall.

Yes, right. And there is one more difference: The HLS you can see in this thread has a cylindric chopper with four air holes on the side. The Pintsch Bamag and the H?rmann F71 (Maybe the Rickmers Werft too - we don't know) have a disk with four holes in it.
