Nice!

Their fire signal is LONG!!

And mounted next to that T-bolt, you have two classic sirens on the same pole!

We only do 4 short blasts on our sirens for fires, and now they're threatening to only use the sirens on confirmed jobs. And they call this progress..

Happy New Year!

I couldn't agree more, Daniel.

Wow.... I can't believe how long they cycle that siren. I'm assuming it's a fire call. We used to blast our system 8 times, but now that's down to 4. This Sentry just keeps going like the Everready Bunny! I love it!

You're right, Mikey. They did dub in the Q sound for the Ward LaFrance from season 2 on. I just watched the pilot movie for Emergency again for the millionth time while I was working one of my paramedic shifts. It's rather funny-- they dub in several different siren sounds for the same unit in diffe...

Eastport FD on Long Island use to have two model 5's next to each other on poles. I was told they would run at the same time, one in alert and the other in attack for alarms. Eastport only has one Model 5 on their HQ. Never had two. The picture on the web was doctored up by someone using Photoshop ...

I still have a Plectron that I use in my office. Works like a champ. The nice thing is that it self-resets, unlike my pager, which goes into monitor mode after activating.

Re: Found another OLD siren in Bishop, CA yesterday

[quote="kx250rider I wonder if it used to be a firehouse?[/quote]

It looks like it may have been. The tower that the siren is on looks very much like a hose tower (old fashioned way of drying hoses after a fire)

Maplewood

When I lived in Maplewood, there was a Thunderbolt 1000 at the city service yard on Laclede Station Road, just south of I-40. That was in 1982, and it looked a bit delapitated back then. My guess is that it was owned by the city and that it is no longer there. (I moved East in 1986). BTW, our condol...
