Re: Ever-growing collection of British siren images

Hello again, A little while back I decided to try and get some sunset photography of Carlisle's Klaxon GP6. This is the third time that I have visited this siren (mostly because it is the nearest one to me as far as I know), and I did not regret coming again! I think the pictures speak for themselve...

Where is the sound loudest on the chopper?

Hello, This is a question that I have been wanting to ask for a long time: Where exactly does the most sound output come out of a siren chopper? Is it the air intake or the ports, or are they all the same? If they are not the same, where does the loudest sound come out? Sorry if this question is con...

Re: UK Siren Map

I'm not entirely sure what kind of siren this is (I'm not too well-versed on electronic models), but it is located at the Prax Terminal in Jarrow, Northumberland, at location 54.98290641758699, -1.4783764819259821. Looks pretty mouldy/overgrown. Link to StreetView: https://www.google.com/maps/@54.98...

Re: Ever-growing collection of British siren images

Hello there! So, this is another post/write-up that I have procrastinated about doing for a while, but here it is finally, heh... As some may know, A while ago I went on a trip to Italy (where I accidentally discovered the Italian STH-10). When arriving back at Liverpool 'John Lennon' Airport, I dec...

Re: Italian STH-10

STH-10s may not B my fav siren; but better than a community NOT having a siren @ all I bet that STH-10 is higher pitched? Yes, the ‘H’ in STH-10 refers to the pitch, indicating that it is high pitched, as opposed to the STL-10, where the ‘L’ means low pitched No, they mean higher pitched because th...

Re: UK Siren Map

I would quickly like to bring to attention that there may be/have been a siren situated in Longtown, Carlisle. I have heard reports from some of my family members that they remember hearing one sounding when they were in the town, and from what I gather, this was relatively recently (within the last...

Re: clm fur sale

I highly doubt that this is a full CLM siren. The Dodge Monaco car is from the film The Blues Brothers, in which the 'siren' atop the vehicle is actually meant to be a public address speaker, the design of which was taken from the CLM siren. Given the expense and relative rarity of this siren, it is...
