Decot Model 12 Red Arrow Restoration

I will begin the documentation on the restoration of this antique Decot (pronounced Deck-oh for the new guys) It is a Model 12, the biggest Teddy made. It was made from 1925-1930. This one was originally purchased and installed in Wisconsin Dells, but then sold and reinstalled at Lyndon Station WI V...

Re: CNC Machining Recommendations

Your best bet will be to look around and ask locally for a "job shop" machinist. Just use Google and call around the local machine shops to ask if they do one-off projects. Shops will vary in capability, turnaround, and pricing. While I'm quite the novice regarding machine work (I can. Tur...

Re: Restoring one of Milwaukee's Gasoline Mobil Directos!

Quick Update Siren has been bolted to the trailer. I have commenced the teardown of the trailer hubs to repack. Glad I am doing this, as the little remaining grease is all dried up and getting crusty. New wheel seals have been ordered. I was able to purchase a set of new tire/rim assemblies. The go...

Re: Was the XT22 series more closely related to the STX-10s or the Model Xs?

If anything, I’d be willing to bet the 2/3T22 was more akin to what Federal tried in 1929/1930 with the dual-rotor Fedelcode models. Quite like the older counterparts the main problem with the ‘22s is their terrible range; even with the horns, the fact they are not tuned to amplify sound similar to...

Re: Gasoline Mobil Directo High Quality Vintage Photos

Well look at what we have here! April 27 1951. The homecoming of Gen. MacArthur. Look what is on top of the Milwaukee County Courthouse! An unmistakeable sillouette! Has to be the same Mobil Directo as pictured on the roof on page 1!

Re: Help dating my model 2

Great addition! Good to see a vintage model 2. Thanks for posting this, please keep the thread updated for us! I wonder if the 25a was the stall current? Could have been a oper-rated spec to keep smaller firehouses with limited current back in the day from hooking it up a circuit that would not prov...
