Re: Killbuck, OH Receives Siren Replacement

I honestly don't know why they cared about that siren specifically when they have a function 2001-SRNB not too far from it in the same town. Then again, I don't know how well those things cover. I only know what they sound like up close, with the exception of hearing the 2001-DC in Berlin yesterday ...

It's Killbuck. I haven't got a clue why they care more about the weight rather than the sound.

Re: Killbuck, OH Receives Siren Replacement

That's what I thought. If 2001s were only 59 pounds, I think we'd see less of them staying in good shape.

Killbuck, OH Receives Siren Replacement

So if anyone remembers this: Here's a Model 5 (7? I'm still new to distinguishing between the two, sorry if I'm incorrect) at a children's playground in Killbuck, OH. I thought this was not only way too close to a playground, but mounted rather low too. http://i.imgur.com/EjfB2Vb.jpg http://i.imgur....

Darn, I had a feeling it might not work. Try this one:

Re: ACA Hurricane Horn Question

Either way, the Square Horn is really interesting and reminds me so much of a Thunderbolt. Was it simply not practical? Wasn't as efficient as the round horn. It's fiberglass and was complicated and expensive to make. Makes sense. Seems more like a novelty idea though and I can see why collectors w...

Re: ACA Hurricane Horn Question

He was selling it at a time where he needed it gone/needed the money, and it looks like right now that isn't the case. Should he put it back on the market, I'm likely going to put an offer in. Either way, the Square Horn is really interesting and reminds me so much of a Thunderbolt. Was it simply no...

Coshocton, OH 2001-DC Alert Monthly Test 8-5-2015

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=plivMZ9y490

Today was the monthly siren test of the Coshocton County sirens and I got some footage of the one near the high school going off. This particular siren has an odd dent towards the top of it as seen in the thumbnail, but I'm not sure what hit it. It doesn't seem to affect performance.
