Re: How Close Can I Install To My House?

Having it under your rear patio roof *should* be alright. Obviously you wouldn’t want to be standing directly under it, though.

Re: Building a loud siren

Before anything else is said, I would briefly like to clarify that whilst sirens can in some cases be heard from indoors, it is very hard to ensure that this will be the case for all buildings at all times. Whether a siren can be heard from indoors depends on a variety of factors, some of which woul...

Re: Possible Klaxon ripoff of a Whelen

The drone slightly reminds me of the concept of having sirens mounted on balloons which was explored during World War I. Obviously the idea was scrapped by the government at the time (although sirens would go on to be used during World War II, albeit mounted on poles and rooves), but it's funny to s...

Re: UK Siren Map

I would quickly like to bring to attention that there may be/have been a siren situated in Longtown, Carlisle. I have heard reports from some of my family members that they remember hearing one sounding when they were in the town, and from what I gather, this was relatively recently (within the las...

I bet a Model A would sound wicked in a place like that
Yeah, definitely! I’ll try to organise to do something like this again if I acquire any new sirens, the video doesn’t really do it justice, in-person it sounded incredible!

Re: Reverse wired Thunderbolts?

This is a slight deviation from the original question, but what I’ve heard people saying that sirens such as the Cyclone have been reverse-wired too, so what do they mean by that?

Wow, that’s so cool! I didn’t actually realise that there are no other videos of this type of siren on YouTube, which surprises me a bit given the way they sound!

Testing Sirens in an Empty Hall

Hi, I got permission to sound a couple of sirens in a massive sports hall! The first is a Chloride Gent 1500, the second being a 3D printed 10/12 port siren designed by Nicolas Salenc. I cannot believe how amazing the echo sounded, especially with the 10/12 siren! Both had to be worked manually, so ...
