Re: Federal Signal "Thundermod" Modulator 4016, voice & alert - Nichols Hills, Ok 2/23/19

That is awesome! I was very sad seeing how modern sirens seemed to be phasing out dual tones, glad to see them make a comeback here sort of! Also, on a related note, this is the first time I've ever heard a modulator's voice capabilities. Much better than Whelen's.

Re: 2019 SWA Plans?

I wanted to head out to a nearby small town and film some awesome Thunderbolts, but I totally zoned out and forgot which day it was on. Didn't remember until I heard our local 2001 blast a nice EEEEEEEEEE right into my bedroom window

Re: Two Alabama Counties Silence Siren Systems

Disappointing. Not to get political, but I think the issue of attempting to phase out siren systems is a classist one. Not everyone can afford cell phones or access to a radio 24/7. Just really not a good idea at all, whether it is to save the county budget or not, to eliminate a mass notification s...

So extremely good to know the Chrysler owners out there are still taking good care of their sirens, I envy you so much getting to hear one in person!

Whelen Hornet outside Lamar, MO

https://goo.gl/maps/ARXUeUdRpbL2

I saw this while visiting Lamar to photograph their siren system and sight see a little yesterday. It doesn't appear to be a part of the city's system, and it's outside of a business called Longhorn Produce. Do they privately own the siren?

Neat! I've never seen one of these up close before. I wonder why it was abandoned?

Re: Question about Richland MO EOWS 612s

Did Waynesville put in new sirens or did they just give up on the idea of sirens after letting the 612s rot? Tried to check on Google Maps but Waynesville in particular is very outdated with all images being from 2008, hopefully someone else knows because I'm very interested to know too whether or ...

I dont think the low aller...

Re: Question about Richland MO EOWS 612s

There are 3 612s in their system if memory serves. They are numbered on their control boxes. Waynesville has or had a couple in their sytem as well. There's a 2001 on Airport Road in Richland that could have replaced the 3rd one, can't view it on Google maps so I can't give a definite answer. Wayne...
