Re: A lot of work

I would recommend PB Blaster over WD40. Which ever you choose use liberal amounts. Some very light tapping with a hammer may help as well

If memory serves there's a P15 visible from I-49/US 71. Same sky blue paint.

Re: Brief Whelen History

The 3000 series is what got me originally interested in sirens. The one at Union and Green Park road in St Louis County MO in particular. Being a student at Green Park Lutheran I was treated every first Monday of the month at 11 am to the counties testing. We all got a kick out of the DTMF tones tha...

Re: Question about Richland MO EOWS 612s

Did Waynesville put in new sirens or did they just give up on the idea of sirens after letting the 612s rot?

Re: Question about Richland MO EOWS 612s

There are 3 612s in their system if memory serves. They are numbered on their control boxes. Waynesville has or had a couple in their sytem as well.

Re: What is Edwards Incorporated?

Maybe a little bit of paint thinner on and around the screws. Light tapping with a hammer or mallet. After the paint thinner dries then spray the screws liberally with PB Blaster and let soak for a while. All in a well ventilated area of course.

Re: Two Alabama Counties Silence Siren Systems

I wonder if any of the individual cities in those counties will put up their own sirens or have their own systems independent of the county systems.

Re: Siren Advice

A pair of well placed Whelen 29xx series would serve your area well with a voice capability for out of towners who may not understand why the siren is sounding. Being a small town you may qualify for matching USDA funds for purchasing. If you're going mechanical then Sentry is probably the way to go...
