Question about restoring a Federal Model D

I'm probably going to have new brushes and bearings put in my 120 Volt Model D in the near future. Before we take it apart, what types of brushes and bearings will it need? Thanks.

Re: Restored Thunderbolt 1000 test run

Besides the size, what are the differences between the 4M and 5M blowers?

Re: Cincinnati Party

It was me who had the recorder on the mic stand and who was visually impaired. Here's a montage of audio clips from the party. Please read description for more info. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHG3SAiar4k&fmt=18 I had a great time. The Hurricane is huge! You could probably sit inside of the ...

Re: Cincinnati Party

I plan on being there with 4 other people. I'll have to leave at 4 PM because I have to be back in Louisville for a band gig Saturday night. I plan on bringing two Sony ICDSX1000 recorders and a stereo mic. Jon says he's bringing his EOWS controller.

What is the port ratio on that 1000T?

Re: Looks like garland finally got their act together....

Garland is the second city in less than a year to ditch their ATI's. Those Whelens will be much more effective.

Re: Oklahoma Siren Meetup 2013

So are you saying that if a Thunderbolt blower is wired backwards, that it was done from inside the blower box itself, or can it also be done in the RCM?

Re: Oklahoma Siren Meetup 2013

I think it was actually by accident. But yeah we immediately noticed when it had a really long wind down. It was still really loud, but nothing close to how it is when the blower is the right way. That means that the blower was actually sucking air out of the chopper instead of blowing air into it....

Re: Oklahoma Siren Meetup 2013

Hey Dillon or Tyler, in video 10 in that playlist, did you guies wire that blower backwards by mistake, or did you do it to see if you could get that Tbolt to sound like the one in Wood River, NE used to? Now we know for sure why some Thunderbolts sound like that and have slow wind-downs.

Re: Enid, Oklahoma Thunderbolt Test

That thing is either on level 1 with 208 Volts at the primary, or it has issues. Sounds great, regardless! I'm not a fan of the FC controller, though.
