That’s pretty crazy, maybe it didn’t get removed since it’s welded to the building and it’s almost impossible to remove it?
Most roof mounted sirens will leave a hole in the roof after they are removed. It's possible they just wanted to leave it in place to prevent damage to the roof.

Actually Sycamore Junior High, but strange that they have the high school's stadium there. But anyway, I got on CAGIS and looked at the 1996 aerial image, and you can see a Thunderbolt on the right there.
That's cool. Thanks for the info! Never knew Sycamore Junior High had a Tbolt.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Anyone know what siren used to sit atop Sycamore High School? I was reading an old article from the archives that stated the siren failed during the tornado of 1999. I know there's a T-128 adjacent from the school, but I'm curious what was there before.

Re: Need Help identifying siren...

I would take the motor to a motor shop. This will allow them to check the condition of the motor and determine if the windings are in good shape. With a motor that old, I wouldn't be surprised if the armature and windings need some work. If it's 3 phase, there will be less of a headache than a singl...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Just wanted to update, Goshen Twp has decided to deactivate their sirens permanently after the tornado. https://www.wcpo.com/news/local-news/clermont-county/goshen-township/its-just-old-technology-goshen-township-wont-address-sirens-after-tornado-hit-and-sirens-failed I think the current T-128s (if...

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Goshen Township Fire Station 18 was partially destroyed by a confirmed tornado this afternoon. The yellow Penetrator on top is still standing, but may be removed soon. It's my understanding that nobody got hurt. There are pics on Twitter about it. Here's a news link. You can see the Penetrator if y...

Re: CTI Rebranded Thunderbolts!?

Yes, it's been on the forum for a while now. https://www.airraidsirens.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=12591&hilit=cti&start=50 CTI was the siren manufacturer subdivision of a construction / siren installation company called Compliance Technologies. A man named Ben Shinn had, as far as I was abl...
