Re: sirens on top or near schools

Cincinnati OH's Thunderbolt 1000 atop Park Place Apartments. Back in the day, this used to be RL Polk Elementary School before it became an office building and then apartments. Back in 2015, something went wrong with the RTU and this thunderbolt didn't sound. It never got fixed anyway, since the new...

Back on New Year’s Day, I saw the 2001-130 next to Crossroads Church.
That must be around the same time they installed the new 130 by Fleckenstein park.

There's 3 2001 130's in the new system now. All of them replaced second gen 2001 DC's that were most likely installed around 1990-1992.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Mason just got another 2001-130. It was recently installed next to Hope Church on Western Row Road. This replaced a first gen 2001 DC.

West Shore Services must be having a good time down here.

Re: dual tone ASC OM-117 ?

Looks to me like this was a Banshee that got replaced by a T-128. No OM-117 exists in dual tone that I know of.

Clayton Werden bought the patent for both the Banshee and P-15, and most sirens installed by him were single tone. Except for a couple out in Clermont County Ohio that are dual tone.

Re: Cincinnati Metropolitan Area Sirens

Late tonight into early tomorrow morning should be interesting. Getting my weather radio ready. Hopefully all systems work properly during a warning.

Re: Where can I get sirens?

Ebay, GovDeals, and West Shore will have sirens for sale. Please keep in mind that the bigger sirens (2t22, thunderbolt, STH, STL, etc) are not cheap and easily weigh 500 pounds or more. You should have a trailer or truck to haul the siren away. Be aware that some sellers require you to go there and...

Re: Jerome AZ Gamewell Cosgrave siren

So the motor seized? Also, what port ratio is it if it’s 3 rotor? It was struck by lightning, which burnt up the control box. I could see from the ground that the contactor was burnt severely. I don't know if it will get fixed anytime soon. It does have 3 rotors and stators, but I don't know if its...

Jerome AZ Gamewell Cosgrave siren

Saw this siren today in Jerome AZ. The controls are exposed to the weather and the wires are cut. The relay has not been replaced yet since it is burnt up. The 3 rotor design is very unique. This looks to have been installed between 1930 and 1940. If anyone has info on these sirens, feel free to add...
