3T22 motor

Is it at all possible to replace a 3 phase 3T22 motor with a single phase one? If not, can it be converted to single phase?

When I was restoring my Model 28, I went to my nearest fire station to ask if they knew of such a place. They didn't. But its worth a try. If anyone knows, it would be them; and besides, firemen are usually quite friendly. And if that doesnt work, you can always replace the motor. I am sure that Gra...

I bet 99% of all the reports for broken sirens are from siren enthusiasts. Its funny how no one else would be able to tell just by hearing the unit go off that it is not working 100% correctly. Not even the maintanence guys. I plan to let Purdue know about their foul sounding STH-10. All in a days w...

Its not the actual horn I own, but the seller set it off for me over the phone. It sounds pretty much identical to the recording I posted earlier.

Federal Signal Model 60 klaxon

I just got this Model 60 navy klaxon on eBay for $50. It is one of the rarest klaxons out there. The motor runs on 110VAC, and the shell is made of aluminum. Adam Smith used to have a recording of it online, but it is gone now. I'll see if i can host a recording of one. I will document and photograp...

Federal Signal Navy Klaxons

I have a few questions about Federal's navy klaxons. I saw on the H8 and H9 horns there was a "tuning screw" on the back of them. What does that do? The Federal IC/H8S4 does not have this tuning screw, and if the tuning screw is for what i think it is (volume adjustment), how do you adjust...
