This mod replaced a vortext from being hit by a car awhile ago.
I don't have any other information on it other than WSS put it in.

Side note, the vortext on 24 mile just east of the m-53 freeway that was almost surrounded by trees is now viewable from all sides. a developer has thinned out the trees.

Jeff from WSS has said almost everytime I've been there that they are going to clean the yard and start scraping most of the sirens and other items in the yard. And i've been going there 2-3 times a year since 2007. Alot of the sirens there are beyond repair. Out of the pile of t-bolts probably you ...

I'm curious, what model is it? Which one? The journal one is likely a 1000. The airport one could be either. But since they only do 1 min test, it's not really worth going there to record. and the airport one could be sketchy to record being by an airport and military property. I'm sure they don't ...

Far northern Lansing T-bolt

Awhile back I was told that the FD was gonna put the Lansing Journal T-bolt over near the capital city airport. amtrak3501 said that he saw it at Sheridan and MLK jr Blvd. So yesterday I was over there I saw this siren as Bill stated. http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd151/EL1998P71/022-2.jpg http...

It's not entirely 2001's.
There is one thunderbolt (oak park), a model 5 (White lake Twp), screamer, model 2 and model 5(Rochester city), 3T22 (Ortonville) and another 3T22 (Brandon Twp)

nah. "lead paint" is all about the pigment. lead compounds make nice yellow and orange pigments for paints, just like other toxic crap like chrome yellow (hexavalent chromium) and cadmium. paint has three major components; the pigment, the carrier, and the solvent. the carrier is what dri...

The siren at the FD at Mt Elliot and Davison moved down the street is what I meant. I don't live in the city

Denver has a very dry climate so these things last forever. I've also found that the 2001DCs and even the Thunderbolt 1003s from the '80s are consistently rustier than the Cold War sirens.
Lead paint may be the reason.
