My guess is a combination of battery and driver age. The entire system was deactivated for quite some time, this was the first activation in probably fifteen or twenty years. Some capacitors on the driver and amp boards could have dried up and failed as well, but I don't think that's as likely. Also thanks for the good laugh, Jeb.

Why was it deactivated for that long?

A bit of a bump, but here's a sick Sentry 3v8-H in Humboldt, Iowa according to the uploader:

From what I've heard on YouTube and Facebook, it has dying capacitors.

TommyBNSF, I'll have to correct you on the West Side 3T22. The motor has not burned up, it's that its radio is no longer functioning properly.

On the other hand, I just realized every 3T22 in Clyde has some significant issue. You'd be surprised for the reason the Downtown 3T22 was replaced...

MAJOR bump but this is one of the sickest Thunderbolts I’ve ever heard. It sounds like the Jtown one before it was fixed

I keep on hearing the J-town Thunderbolt being referenced over the years, but does anyone have a recording of it?
